You’ll want to know as much as possible about what to expect.  Begin by reviewing this website; you'll get a feel for what SCORE does.

We are a team of 86 men and women who derive enjoyment and satisfaction helping people improve their lives by becoming successful in business.  SCORE is committed to assist those running or starting a business.  We are also devoted to help those with a “great idea” sketch out a reality check.

The converse is also true.  Those who do not have a solid plan or are missing the components necessary for success need to be discouraged — not by telling them their plan is no good, but by asking appropriate questions that will lead them to that conclusion.  

In either case, we are all volunteers whose compensation is what’s best for our clients.

We are always in need of business people to compliment our current membership team.  Here are several questions you will want to ask yourself:

• Do I have a successful business background that would benefit a budding entrepreneur on the road to success?
• Do I have the ability and temperament to teach people at the inception of their business careers?
• Can I volunteer to counsel 3-5 days a month?
• Do I have one or more of the skills similiar to those in Business Counseling Skills ?
• Would I be interested in leading business workshops?
• Would I enjoy joining a team of friendly and interesting people?
